IMPORTANT NOTES:
A. Tibbetts Courts will typically be open with tennis balls on site before you arrive for practice. Whenever courts are open and balls are available, it is expected that players will use such time to warm-up and for informal practice.
B. Tennis Teams at Liberty are comprised of: 10-12 Varsity Members and the remainder on JV. There isn’t a C Team. Although tennis is no cut, circumstances could require that reductions be made. Player assessments and Team designations should be completed by end of first week of practice if weather permits.
C. Practice format: Once Season begins, Varsity members will practice from 2:45pm – 4:15pm. JV practice will begin at approximately 4:15pm – 6pm. Wednesday late dismissal will adjust practice times, accordingly. Challenge matches may be played during regular practice times as coaches instruct.

- Players may challenge-up 1 or 2 positions from their current ranking.
- A player MUST accept a 2nd challenge or face losing current Team ranking to the challenging teammate. Coaches and Team Captains will handle any questions.
- On occasion, coaches may decide that a practice day will consist of Team Challenges. In such instances, coaches MAY select match participants. If a player is absent on a Challenge Day, absent player will forfeit their position in ranking and assume a lower ranking as if match(s) are forfeit loses. If extenuating circumstances are present, Coaches may make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
- Challenge Matches will be 1 set, no add scoring, 7 pt tie-breaker at 6 – 6.
- Challenge match results become effective & impact Team Ranking, immediately. If a League Match is canceled (weather-related or other) and Team ranking changes before make-up match is played, Team ranking at time of original match date will be referenced in determining team members and playing order.
Rules may be amended from time to time. It is the responsibility of each player to review Team Rules and remain current with any changes.
